Our values

What defines us as ELLB team and our way of working? What happens behind the scenes? Together as a team, we have developed a common set of values for our collaboration. In doing so, we discussed which values are important to us among ourselves and also in our work with our partners and target groups. The Fraunhofer Cerri - Center for Responsible Research and Innovation supported us in this process. The result of our activities in this field can be found on this page as our tree of values.

Our value tree

What 's behind our values?

For us at ELLB, the topic of sustainability can be found in every fiber and provides the nutrient for everything that is based on it. Therefore, sustainability is the root of the learning lab, both in a strategic sense and in its operational implementation. For us, sustainability is multidimensional, and we would like to emphasize the following dimensions in particular:

  • Employability: Through our training offers in the future-oriented battery industry, we contribute to sustainable economic growth and productive full employment.
  • Diversity: Diversity refers on the one hand to the diversity of our offerings, but - even more important - to the diversity of our target group. Every person is welcome here - regardless of gender, age, religion, sexual identity or orientation, origin [ethnic, geographic], level of education, etc.
  • Market-oriented: Our offering is based on market research findings on present and predicted needs for current and future specialists and managers in the battery sector. Competence analyses also provide us with information on how we can cover the needs of our target groups through the didactic design of our training programs. This enables us to meet the needs of our target groups and thus the demand from the industry in the long term.
  • Relevant topics: Based on the findings of our market research and through continuous and iterative exchange with experts, we have identified the relevant topics for our offering. The aim is to focus on the necessary and relevant topics in order to make the best possible and thus sustainable use of the time invested in training and development.
  • Future-oriented education: Our offerings are designed with a modern understanding of learning in mind and follow the approach of lifelong learning. In addition to conveying the relevant content through an innovative mix of methods and modern learning technologies, we address the future skills necessary for our target group through our learning design. Thus, we enable our participants to be successful in the context of battery cell production now and in the future.

Openness and community form the basis of our cooperation and create the atmosphere for our value tree. Furthermore, we signal an open community to the outside world by sharing our knowledge and inviting all interested parties to join us. Thus, the value tree (symbolically) also gives something to the atmosphere.

For us, openness is the answer to the diversity and heterogeneity of our topic. The cooperation of many different partners, the interplay of different interests, the consideration of a heterogeneous target group, the uncertainty of the future of the battery industry, ...we want to meet all this with openness and transparency. Through our focus on the topic of continuing education, we want to be pioneers, we want to build bridges, connect people and topics, and ultimately meet the cross-functional issues of the battery industry. With our open mindset, we strive for a positive attitude that enables us to face new challenges and overcome prevailing thought patterns.

At ELLB, we have set ourselves the goal of establishing a lively community - we are looking forward to embarking on a joint journey with you into the world of batteries! Together we want to make learning an experience. In doing so, we incorporate all the values that can be seen in our value tree. Become part of our community and shape Europe's green future together with us!

Every interested party should have the opportunity to participate in our offerings. We therefore create appropriate framework conditions and ensure accessibility both for our online training courses and for our on-site seminars. By actively addressing the issue of diversity in the development, marketing, and implementation of our offerings, we try to do justice to the topic. For this purpose, we have our partners from the Fraunhofer CeRRI - Center for Responsible Research and Innovation on board in an advisory capacity.

Trust is very important to us, both internally and externally. The ELLB is supported by the participation of many Fraunhofer institutes and cooperation partners, who all work together in a trusting partnership and share their knowledge and ensure transparency. Our participants can rely on quality, professionalism and sustainability.

The battery industry is currently developing rapidly and is in a state of transition. Many parameters are uncertain and the experience, e.g. for a highly scaled production, must first be built up in Europe. We therefore see it as our task to react to market changes in an agile way. We want to address this through a regular exchange with experts on our offerings and the close involvement of our target groups in the context of pilot projects. In this way, we can ensure a prompt response to changes in the market and make adjustments quickly and flexibly.

As part of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, excellence is part of our DNA. That is why we demand the highest quality from our ELLB offerings. For us, this means on the one hand that the content of our training courses is valid, relevant, well-researched and well-founded.  On the other hand, we attach great importance to our gold standard in the underlying didactics: didactically well-trained trainers, the best mix of methods for the target group and topic, the use of modern didactic concepts and learning technologies, and addressing future skills through our learning design.

In addition to the excellent staff of the ELLB development team, we are supported by our advisory board, which is composed of different areas such as industry, teaching, didactics, etc., in order to bring the expertise of different perspectives into our offer.

The mission of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is to make innovation and research knowledge accessible and usable. Accordingly, innovation is already anchored in the DNA of our offered content, which enables the transfer of the latest research findings in the battery sector. In the learning lab, innovation is also reflected in the didactic implementation of our offerings. By focusing on smart learning and modern learning technologies such as augmented reality, we have set ourselves the goal of promoting innovation in education for adults. Addressing future skills explicitly relevant to the battery sector in the categories of innovation & creativity, digital & technology, communication & collaboration, and self-management through learning design is another innovative approach that we put into practice.

At ELLB, we place great emphasis on participation and involvement in the development of our training programs. A close exchange with representatives of the target groups, industry, our Fraunhofer experts and universities enables us to create valuable training programs.

On the other hand, we are committed to promoting the active participation of our participants in our programs. We do not see training as a one-sided process, we promote problem-solving skills for future challenges in the battery industry, for example by jointly developing application-oriented scenarios in cross-functional teams.

We are very committed to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and strive to implement them on as many levels and facets as possible for the ELLB. For us, this is a continuous process in which your views, suggestions and proposals are welcome! Feel free to share them with us at ellb@ffb.fraunhofer.de
